About Su

Hi. I am Su Soutter. Su with no "e" and Soutter rhymes with scooter. I am a speaker, teacher, blogger, big dreamer, not-so-typical housewife, and mom of 5. Here I am with my kiddos, ages 6, 8, 11, 13, and 15.

Here I am with my hubby cause it is just too hard to get a good picture of all 7 of us.

I am passionate about seeing women come alive, live with purpose, and create homes of peace and joy. . .homes that really are a refuge from the chaos of the world. I am passionate about seeing women make an impact on their homes, their families, and their communities.

About My Blog Posts

I blog 3-4 times a week on running an intentional home. I write on couponing, meal planning, parenting, and home organization .

You can check out the red horizontal menu bar at the top of my blog to see more of the categories I write about. Each category pulls down to reveal subcategories. One of my favorite categories is Be Intentional About This. You can also use the search function in the sidebar to find other posts that might be of interest.

I certainly don't have it all figured out or all together. I am no Super Mom, Suzy Homemaker, or Martha Stewart. In fact, I struggled for the first 12 years of my marriage with anything domestic related. For more of that story, check out this post: How The Intentional Home Grew.

But what I do have is a vision of what I desire my home to be: a place where my family and others gather around the dinner table and then later in the living room to rest, share, laugh, connect. I want those who enter to leave refreshed, comforted & loved on. I envision being debt free and content with a little, but having an abundance from which I can freely give to those around me. I envision a strong, passionate marriage, lots of fun, well behaved kids who bring joy to not only me but others. I have a vision of a home that runs efficiently and is clutter free, a home that is bright, colorful, & happy.

I am not there yet, but have made intentional decisions that guide my steps each day. Let me bring you along on the journey.

  1. It is soooo nice to meet you!! I stopped by here after you left a comment of my blog, and I am so glad I did! This blog is a happy, inspiring, and encouraging place. Just reading different posts makes me want to hug you! :)
I am amazed at your coupon skills. I definitely could use some help in this area!
    I am now a subscriber.

  2. I just learned of this website today. I have only read one blog and it was the blog about your kids chores...something that to some people might seem mundane but I am so moved. I can physically feel the effect that reading your words just had on me. You have so much wisdom and I'm thanking God right now I stumbled upon this site. I don't know how I know this but I already know you are going to play a big part in my "coming alive". Thank you for hearing God's voice and responding and I look forward to soaking in more of the Su Soutter vision!
