My Speaking Page

Su-SoutterHi! Thanks for checking out my speaking page. My
hope is that this page will help you decide if I am the right fit for your upcoming event.

I am Su Soutter. Su with no "e" and Soutter rhymes with scooter. I'm a speaker, teacher, blogger, big dreamer,

not-so-typical housewife, and mom of 5

I have been speaking at women's ministry events, conferences, retreats, MOPS groups, and breakout sessions for the past 5 years.

I delight in inspiring, motivating, and equipping women to come alive, live with purpose, and make an impact on their homes, their communities, and the world.

Running an Intentional Home

10 Obstacles & 10 Solutions to Creating an Intentional Home

Most of us dream of a home that is filled with peace and joy, a home that runs efficiently, a home that is truly a refuge from the chaos of the world. But the day-to-day reality is often times far from this. We juggle. We fit this in and make room for that. We multitask. We hang in there. We survive. But oh, there is more for us than a life of survival.

In this teaching, I explore the top 10 obstacles to running an intentional home. And then I share 10 ways to make active, intentional decisions to combat these hindrances. This teaching is filled with many personal stories and well as many application points. This teaching can also be customized for Christian women by including a look at Scripture.

When Motherhood Isn’t Easy
Motherhood is not easy. There are sleepless nights, temper tantrums, homework hassles, unlimited carpooling, and teenage hormones. But God has more than a life of survival for us moms. In this message, I share how God has an amazing plan for us moms. I then explore three practical means for experiencing that plan on a daily basis.

The Practicals of Homemaking

Couponing

For the past four years, I have been teaching ladies (and a few guys too!) how to cut their grocery bill in half by strategically using coupons.I grocery shop for our family of 7 for less than $100 a week (and I still buy diapers!). That is all our food, cleaning, and health and beauty products. And I shop one grocery store and one drug store only. For more details about this teaching, click here.

Meal Planning & Freezer Cooking

In this teaching, you will not only learn how to maximize your savings, but you will learn how to transform that hectic, rushed, stressful dinnertime into a time to come together and connect. Dinner really can be a peaceful gathering, a time to bless and enjoy your family and friends. My goal is for you to go from overwhelmed and frustrated to empowered and confident when you hear the question, "What's for dinner?"  For more details about this teaching, click here.

Intentional Home Organization & Decor

Decorating and organizing your home is not a frivolous pastime, nor does it mean you are focused on unimportant things. Making the most of your home and creating a home that reflects the real you is a way to nourish yourself, your family, and those you welcome in. In this class, I focus on the decluttering, organizing, cleaning, and decorating of our homes. You'll begin to nail down the unique purpose and vision of your home and then figure out how to organize and decorate to serve that purpose.

Following God with Reckless Abandon
No More Excuses: What It Takes to Be on Mission with God

Are we going to make excuses as to why we can't be used by God or are we going to make ourselves available for God-sized dreams? So often we get our eyes fixed on ourselves, our shortcomings, and the large problems in front of us. Instead our eyes need to be fixed on God. In this teaching, Su explores the book of Nehemiah and answers the questions:
What characteristics must a person posses before God calls him to be on mission with Him? What does it take to be used by God? What does it take to experience God adventures?
Su shares many personal stories in this teaching and uses Nehemiah's story to challenge us to take crazy risks for God.
Radical Obedience
In this message, I encourage women that it really is time for us to be the radical, crazy, on fire for Jesus women we were created to be. To love Jesus so much, to be so submitted to Him that we say, "Lord, if you say so, I’ll do it." Even when it doesn’t make sense and even if we do not think it’s going to work.  I explore Luke 5 and share what happens when we lay aside our dreams, ideas, and plans and do what God says.

Experiencing God
On one hand I am your normal stay-at-home mom who takes care of her husband, 5 kids, and home. I have my good days and bad days. Some days, I feel like all I do is cart kids to and from school and do laundry. Some days I am in tears because I am so overwhelmed by the amount of laundry there is to be done.
On the other hand: I am this radical servant of God. I am a princess who is on mission with God. And I am living anything but a normal life. And all that has nothing to do with who I am, but all to do with who Jesus is. I have experienced God break into my life many times and do crazy and big miracles and move some major mountains and I am expectant that He will continue to do so. And I am expectant that He wants to do the same in your life to.

In this message, I help us understand that the Christian walk is more than just going to church and reading the Bible. Actually it is a wild adventure where we get to join God in his amazing mission. In this teaching, I will inspire you “step out of boat” and risk for God. I will take you through the story of Peter walking on water and give you 3 practical tools for experiencing God on a regular basis.

What Others Are Saying
Su, Thank you very much for speaking to our group yesterday. I just kept thinking, "Does this woman live inside my head?" I really needed to hear what you had say. I have been a Christian since I was a little girl but just now in my 35th year of life, I am beginning to truly understand God's grace. I cried big tears at your conclusion when you said that God adores me, apart from anything else I do or say. I'm still crying today when I type this message. Somehow in living this life, I forgot that part. Thank you for reminding me. –Heidi B.

Su, Thanks so much for sharing your message of the intentional home. Your message was spot on and breathtaking! You were supremely confident and comfortable. You were passionate in what you talked about and yet realistic about the life a mom leads. I loved the stats you shared that drove home your points and the photos. The real-life examples you shared were great to help us keep everything in perspective - you weren't preaching perfectionism but intentionality. –Bethany H. MOPS Community Networker: Area 26

Dear Su, Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom, knowledge, and techniques in such an encouraging and motivating manner. You are a most skilled communicator. Also, thanks for sharing your core values in why it is so important to coupon. You have a valuable ministry that touches many. -Janet B, Director of Family Ministry at Asbury Methodist Church

Thanks so much for coming yesterday!! We LOVED your new teaching! :) There has already been a TON of dialogue about people encouraging one another to use the tools you gave us yesterday! We appreciate your wisdom and are thankful for you! –Jen Q.
