My Super Doubles Trip

I just got back from Super Doubles at Harris Teeter. I got all the below for $4.40!!!!

Well, I had to pay $16.40 out of pocket but got back $12 in Catalinas to use on my next purchase so that is really like $4.40!! Keep reading for all the details.

I purchased:

3 Stridex Pads that were on sale for 1.99. I used the $1 off coupon from 6/13 SS to get these for free. I am super excited about these since I have a 13 and 11 year old in the house.

4 lbs of green grapes because they were 99 cents a lb and this is my target price for grapes. Target price is the price I will not go over for a certain item. For a list of target prices and price lists you can print out, click here.

2 packs of Bumblebee Tuna that were on sale 2 for $3. I had a $1 off 2 coupon so that made the packs only 50 cents a piece.

10 boxes of Eggos. They were normally 2 for $5 so $2.50 a piece. I had coupons for $1 off 2 boxes so I used 5 of them (they were 2 separate kinds so they took them: 3 of one and 2 of another) so that brought the price down to 2 for $3. So I got 10 boxes for $15 BUT the Kellogg's Catalina is still running so I got $10 back to use on my next purchase. So really these boxes of Eggos were only 50 cents a piece.

These are a rare treat in the Soutter household. I just do not choose to spend my money on these when my kids go thru a whole box in one breakfast and really they aren't the best for my kiddos bodies. But when I can get them for 50 cents a box, I do not mind surprising the kids. Seriously, they freak out when I bring them home (simple pleasures, eh?). I mean I just got home from HT and they are eating Eggos now. Here are my 2 younger ones excited about the Eggos. (Really, they just love to see their pics on my blog (so do their grandparents) and Brooke just curled her hair. But I was snapping a pic of my grocery shop and had to snap one of them too).

3 boxes of mac and cheese on sale for $1.99 and used $1 coupon to get those for free.

3 packs of yogurt, used the $1 coupon to get those for free since they were on sale 2 for $4.

3 jars of Peter Pan peanut butter were on EVIC special for 99 cents a jar. Do note that you have to buy 3 to get this price. And you can only buy 3 per VIC card since this is a EVIC special (not 6 or 9). So once you do it once, you cannot do it again (even on another day). I wish I had had the 60 cent coupons from 8/1 to make these free but we were out of town that weekend and I did not get any copies of the paper. gasp!

2 24-packs of Deer Park Water. They are on sale BOGO so I got 2 packs for $7.49. There is a Catalina running right now that if you buy 2 24-packs of Deer Park Water, you will get $2 Catalina to use on your next shopping order. So really that means I got 48 bottles of water for $5.49 which is almost the 10 cents I aim for.

And I had a $10 off you next order Catalina from the Kellogg's cereal deal I did last week. And I had 3 wine tags each for $1 off your grocery bill which did double so that was $2 off the grocery bill times 3 made it $6 off!!

So my total out of pocket was $16.40. I saved $76.19, a savings of 82%. But if you factor in the $12 of Catalinas, I had a savings of 95%!!!! Makes me giddy. If you need help figuring out how the % you saved, click here for an explanation.

Now, I know when I mentioned wine tags, some of you were thinking, "Man, I never find those!" Well, I love my blog readers so I have been collecting some for you. Make sure you come back tomorrow for a chance to win an envelope of wine tags.
