Kroger's 10 Item Mega Event (until 10/9)

Tricia just emailed me. She got all the below which is $115 worth of groceries for only $35 at Kroger's Mega Event that is going on this week (10/3 thru 10/9)!! That is a savings of 70%!

After Coupons, Here is what Tricia paid:

10 Philadelphia cream cheese=FREE
10 Vitamin waters=FREE (there were tear pads next to item!)
2 fuse drinks=FREE
2 Liter Cokes were $.69 each
Rice Krispy Cereal was $1.49
Fruit Loops Cereal $1.24 each
Wheat Thins $.69 each
Ritz Crackers $1.49 each
Yogurt $.37 each
Chips Ahoy $.99
Chocolate Milk (for Ezra) $.49
Texas Toast $.99
Dinner Rolls $.99
Steam Fresh Broccoli $.99 each
Pasta $.50 each

Stuff Tricia would have bought regardless:

eggs 1.19
milk 3.19
hot chocolate $2
apple cider $1.69
Baked beans 3/$5

Now please note: Kroger's 10 Item Mega Event (where you get $5 off at the register) is DIFFERENT than Kroger's 10 for $10 sales.

Let me clarify: When Kroger has the 10 for $10 sales, you can buy just one and get it for $1. You can also use a coupon on this one item.

BUT when Kroger has a Mega Event where $5 is taken off at the register when you buy 10 participating items, you must buy 10 items (you can mix and match these) to get that $5 taken off. So do not think you can buy one Kraft Mac and Cheese and get it for 49 cents. You have to buy 10 items to get the 49 cent sale price (that is the price once the $5 automatically comes off at the register). You can of course, use coupons on these items.

And from my last shop at Kroger's Mega Event, you can do as many batched of 10 items as you want in a transaction. Now, the most I have ever done is 4. Anyone done any higher than that?

Let me know if you hit Kroger this week. These particular deals last until Sat, Oct 9.

  1. I went to Kroger today, too. Went up to customer service and asked them how many times I could use the $5.00 off 10 participating items per transaction and the lady told me 3 times per transaction.

I found a coupon a couple weeks ago in a Kroger add for $25 in groceries free if you transferred your prescription to Kroger, then found out that my generic prescription was on their $4 list.

So I took my $25 and got all this for free:
22 Velveeta Shells and Cheese (Buy 10 get $5 off)
2 Kraft BBQ sauce (Buy 10 get $5 off)
6 Fuze drinks (Buy 10 get $5 off)
    10 Powerade drinks

And I had a little over $2 left of the $25.

Can't believe I walked out with all this stuff for free (not counting the $4 I paid for the prescription)
