Take 27 seconds to watch this. . .

Watch the below 27 second video of a boy in Africa thrilled to receive an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.

Did you notice that the boy hasn't even opened the shoebox yet?? It makes me cry.

Tonight my family and the tweens from our church are gathering to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world. This program of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Since 1993, more than 69 million shoe box gifts have been packed & delivered to children in 130 countries.

This is a great place/way to give those free toothbrushes, toothpaste, school supplies, bars of soap, unopened happy meal toys, etc. You can see the list of items perfect for the kids who receive the shoeboxes here.

As I share in my coupon class, couponing has enabled me to give so much more abundantly and more easily than ever before. . .and I love to post every so often opportunities for us to share items from our stockpile. :)

If you are so inclined to fill a shoebox, you can drop it off at my house by Sunday midnight and I will take it to the drop off center Monday morning with all the shoeboxes we are packing tonight. What a great activity to do with your kids to encourage thankfulness as we approach Thanksgiving.

Here's to spending less at the grocery store so we can ____ more and GIVE MORE!!
Can you imagine bringing that much joy to a kid with our free toothpaste, free toothbrushes, free Buddies soap, penny crayons from the back-to-school sales, and a few more dollars of fun stuff.? I'll say it again, couponing not only is able to bless your family, but it can so be used to bless others in our community and even around the world.

  2. We turned in 3 at church last week. It really makes all of us feel good. My kids really enjoy working on the boxes and are so proud to turn them in. I buy LOTS of stuff for the boxes during the back to school sales when crayons are 25 cents a box, etc. -EP

  3. My son and I did a box for a boy and a girl. I was so proud when he brought me a book for each box without my prompting.

I loved sharing this opportunity with my son! -MT
