10 Quotes to Inspire You to Create a Home You Love

another button my Anna made me :)
I'm in the midst of creating new handouts for my House to Home class. At the bottom of each page, I put an inspirational home quote. There are so many good ones that I had to share the ones that didn't make the handouts.

A good home must be made,
not bought.
-Joyce Maynard who wrote Domestic Affairs

The ache for home lives in all of us,
the safe place where we can go
as we are and not be questioned.
- Maya Angelou

We shape our dwellings,
and afterwards,
our dwellings shape us.
- Winston Churchill

To be organized is not synonymous with meticulous. To be organized means you do things for a good reason at the best time and in the easiest way. It doesn't mean that you never get behind, rather that you can stick to it until you have recovered.
-Bonnie McCullough who wrote Totally Organized

This house is a perfect house,
Whether you like foood or sleep,
Or storytelling, or singing,
Or just sitting and thinking best,
Or a pleasant mixture of them all.
Merely to be here is a cure
For weariness, fear and sadness.

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.

And for #10: Here's Rob's and my song that we danced to at our wedding 19 years ago. "Your're My Home" by Biily Joel. We thought the song was fitting because after the wedding, we took a 5 week trek out west for our honeymoon. Click on You Tube video to hear song and see words.

If you are viewing this in a reader or in email, you will want to click on the title of this post to be taken to my actual blog. . that is, if you want to hear the song on You Tube.

Do you have any favorite "home quotes" for me to add to my list?
