The Super Power of Encouragement (& a Giveaway!)

I saw a printable on Pinterest that read "I Teach. What's your Super Power?"

And I had to create my own that says:

Because I believe encouragement is the real super power. Encouragement transforms lives. Encouragement speaks hope. Encouragement confirms and affirms one's value. Encouragement validates. Encouragement motivates. Encouragement helps one persevere. Encouragement offers courage. Encouragement says you are totally capable.

Encouragement is oxygen to the soul.
-George Matthew Adams

I want to be an encourager. I want to be a part of improving the lives of others. I want that super power. Don't you?

You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have am impact on a life.
-Zig Ziglar

And unlike teaching, you do not need a degree to possess the Super Power of Encouragement. You do not need money either. You really do not even need to be gifted with words. The Super Power of Encouragement is open to anyone. Anyone willing to take a few minutes out of their busy day and be intentional in communicating words of hope, courage, appreciation, or validation.

One compliment can keep me going for a whole month.
-Mark Twain

I have a friend who takes note everytime someone she is hanging out with speaks highly of someone else. What my friend will do is make sure the next time she sees the person her friend was speaking so highly of, she will tell them. For example, my friend will say. . "Oh, I was having lunch with a friend the other day and she mentioned how touched she was when your kids came up and hugged her in the hallway at church." or "A friend and I were walking the other day and she mentioned how much she admires how generous you are with your time." What a small act of intentionality. But what a difference it makes in the receiver's day.

How do you identify someone who needs encouragement?
That person is breathing.

Here is where the giveaway happens so keep reading: DaySpring knows the power of encouragement. DaySpring's Inspired Deals page this month is all about encouragement.

And DaySpring recently sent me a whole slew of U-NEEKS Cards  because DaySpring knows that one tangible way to share encouragement with others is by sending a card.

The silly creatures on these cards so put a smile on your face. The cards are silly and quirky and filled with notes of encouragement. I sent one to my neice for her bday. And there is a lion one that says, "You're one of my favorites and I ain't LION" that I want to put in one of my kids' lunchboxes.

This walrus card says inside. . ."Toothfully. . .I think you're awethome!"  And then has the scripture Proverbs 27:9 on it "A sweet friendship refreshes the soul."

And DaySpring wants to give one of you a U-NEEKS Card Pack and U-NEEKS Friendship Card Pack. That's 18 cards valued at $35. DaySpring is only doing 3 giveaways this month and this is one of them!!

  5. I am going to encourage my husband who seems to get left out when things get a little busy around here. I forget how much he needs to be affirmed and even let know how crazy I am about him and how he is still SO attractive to me. I need to encourage him with my dating goggles on. Thanks for encouraging me to do so and being an encouragement yourself.

  8. One of my personal goals is to have a positive attitude and encourage people daily.

I will encourage my teammates and co-workers. I teach. :) With the new objectives and report cards looming, teachers are feeling overwhelmed and under appreciated.
