This Weekend's Christmas Fun

My post Best Neighborhoods for Christmas Lights around Raleigh has been updated again! Thanks so much for sending me addresses to add to the list. The list just gets better every year because of you. Check out the updated list here.

This weekend we are planning on taking the kids to Happyland Christmas Lights. Thanks to Intentional Home blog reader Jacqueline for giving me the heads up on these lights. Jacqueline says Happyland Christmas Lights at 5504 Huntingwood Drive, Raleigh 27606 has some of the best Christmas decorations she has ever seen in her life. There is even an old fire truck decked out in lights. Light hours are Mon-Thurs 6:30-9pm and Fri-Sunday 6:30-10:30pm. Happyland Christmas Lights even has their own Facebook page; check it out here.

I also want to take the kids to the drive thru nativity at Longview Baptist Church located at 2308 New Hope Road Raleigh, NC 27604. Hours are 7-9pm this Friday-Sunday. For more fun Christmas events around Raleigh, check out this post which has also been updated.

And look what I found on Pinterest: Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt! How fun!

I think we will do this as we are driving to Happlyland and Longview's Nativity. Although, I think the kids may need to bring flashlights or head lamps so they can read and check off the list in the car. You can go Karen's blog Layers of Learning and print this scavenger hunt list out.

Happy Weekend!! Only 10 days left til Christmas!! May the next 10 days be intentional.

  1. Such cool things to do. I think the Nativity will be fun. So will the scavenger hunt. Sometimes I am kind of wary of too many lights. I know that many households usually try to conserve electricity as much as possible and find ways to decorate without spending a lot of money.

  2. Thanks for recommending the HappyLand lights. As the other poster pointed out, many people do try to decorate beautifully without spending too much on electricity. The HappyLand decorations give good ideas for mixing lights with other lovely decorations.
