$1.84 Zaycon Chicken Sale Coming Soon and My Review of Zaycon Chicken

This past April, Zaycon Foods, a company that brings fresh meats and other products direct to consumers at wholesale prices came to Raleigh for the first time ever.

And I ordered a unit of chicken. The chicken is boneless, skinless, fresh (never frozen), 100% natural with no added hormones, additives, or artificial ingredients. And it is below my $1.99/lb price point. This time around it is $1.84 a pound!

Many of you ordered too. Have you already run out of chicken from that last sale? Or did you miss out due to the event selling out?  Well. . .Zaycon is coming back to Raleigh in October. They are also coming to Garner, Cary, Durham, Sanford, Rocky Mt, Burlington, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Kinston, High Point, Roanoke, Greenville, Lumberton, and Winston-Salem. You can check here for exact locations around the country.

The minimum amount of chicken you can order is 1 unit which is 40 pounds. If this is too much for you and your family, perhaps you can split the box with a friend.

The chicken comes in a box like below. You do not even have to get out of your car when you go for pick up; you just drive up and they hand you your box of chicken. However, you do need to preorder.

Inside one 40 pound box are 4 bags like below.  As I shared above, the chicken comes fresh; it has never been frozen.

Each bag has 8 of these huge chicken breasts in it:

From the box, I ended up with 16 Ziploc bags of chicken, each with 5-6 chicken breasts in them. Now what I counted as 1 chicken breast was actually a 1/4 of what is on that plate above. They were just so large, that I cut them.

When I buy 40 lbs of chicken at the grocery store, I get about 60 large chicken breasts. From this Zaycon order of 40 lbs of chicken, I got 85 medium chicken breasts. And this chicken is
fresh (never frozen), 100% natural with no added hormones, additives, or artificial ingredients. I was super pleased.

It took me about 1 1/2 hours to wash the chicken, trim the fat from it, and cut it into smaller pieces. And then put 5-6 pieces in a Ziploc bag. Some I just left plain and stuck in Ziploc bags (see picture above). I will use this chicken to make:

Crockpot BBQ Chicken

Crockpot Chicken Fajitas

Foiled Baked Asian Chicken

Cheese and Herb Stuffed Chicken

Crockpot Honey Sesame Chicken

Some I went ahead and poured some marinade over it. I used Italian dressing in some, BBQ sauce in some, and then some Frank's Wing Sauce in some.

For more details on what I do when I get a great deal on chicken check out this post:

Here's all my chicken in the freezer. You do not need a large extra freezer to store this much chicken.

If you want to order some chicken, click HERE. That is my referral link. I get $1 credit for everyone that signs up thru me. But even if I did not get a $1 credit, I would be telling you about this deal.  $1.84 is a great price for boneless, skinless chicken. . especially chicken straight from the butcher with no additives, hormones, or artificial ingredients! I tell you, I only share on my blog what I would share with my girlfriends in real life. (The truth is, many of you are one in the same).

I know this chicken event is not until late October, but many locations sell out before the pick up date so I would order now. I just placed my order.

And don't worry, even if you do not live in Raleigh, Zaycon has many locations.Check them out here.
