Come Shop Local & Handmade this Friday!

One thing I really enjoy is going to craft shows and local, handmade art open houses. All the original art makes me smile. There is just something special about handmade pieces in an era of mass production. And I much rather give my money to a real local artisan than to Kirklands or HomeGoods.

And this Friday, Nov 1, I am participating in an Art Open House. I am so excited to be joining this group of talented ladies. I wanted to invite you to stop by:

Here is a sneak peak at all the handmade goodness that will be there:

Erin Solomon of Prissypots

Hand-painted signs, ornaments, and holiday decor.
Erin will be personalizing ornaments starting at about 12:30pm Friday.

Susan Boylston
Crocheted scarves, head wraps and coffee cozies.
Painted pumpkins, chalkboard frames, and pottery.

Susan is fundraising for her family's upcoming adoption of two boys from Congo.

Alli Rogosich of Bloom and Grow Studio

Hand crafted subway art signs, chevron and other rustic picture frames, custom family trees, pendants, and other handmade home decor items.

Paige Coltrera of The Lavish Thread

Paige will be taking personalized orders for items such as baby onesies, baby gowns, burp cloths, bibs, bloomers, sippy cups, snack cups, luggage tags and drink tumblers.
All items will be available with a monogram or appliqué to add.

Brandi Mendenhall of Noonday Collections

Brandi represents (formerly) impoverished artisans from around the world, helping provide access to the US marketplace, while advocating on their behalf.
Come take a look at the handmade and ethically sourced jewelry, accessories,
belts, bags, and home goods.

Katherine Andre of FEAST

Jam, Pesto, Sprouted Nut Butter, and more made with NC and/or organically-grown fruit, veggies, herbs, & honey. Each product is created in small batches and inspired by the season.

and then Me:
Su Soutter of The Intentional Home

These nativity signs are a new creation. I am making them in red, apple green, and a turquoise light blue. Perfect for our Christmas mantels.

I will also have my ornaments there. And I have made some pink and green monogram ones too.

And I package these ornaments up at no extra charge so they are ready to give. Look at these orders I just boxed up:

And I do have a few sets of my Give Thanks Pumpkins left that will look perfect on your Thanksgiving mantel or table:

Sure hope to see you on Friday, Nov 1. The open house is right near me in Quail Hollow neighborhood off Millbrook Rd in Raleigh. We'll be there all day, 10am-8pm. Come get some Christmas shopping done early. . . only 57 days left.

I am sharing this post at another local blogger's linky party. Check out Juana Mikels' blog.
