5 for Friday

Happy Friday!  Here's 5 things I wanted to share with you.

1. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour on Saturday night for Daylight Savings Time. While we'll have to get by with an hour less sleep, we can score a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme.

Krispy Kreme is giving away one free original glazed doughnut per person on Sunday, March 9th to celebrate Daylight Savings Time. No purchase necessary.

2  I have been creating some intentional art lately.  Here's a sign Michelle ordered for her brother and his wife, a gift for their 10 year wedding anniversary. I usually create these signs on wood, but Michelle had the great of idea of making the sign on tin since that is the material for 10 years. So thoughtful.

And one wise and intentional mama ordered the below as a birthday gift for her teenage girl. They just redid her daughter's room in black, white and lavender with a zebra comforter. This new art for the walls is such a creative way to put truth in her kid's heart.

I put Brooke's picture in there. . .just for this photo.  That intentional mama will put a 5x7 black and white picture of her beautiful daughter there.

And here's one more piece of intentional art I made this week. I am working on some other color combinations for this sign:  pink and white, lime green and white, pink and black, black and white.  I think this would be perfect in a girls' bathroom.

3. I have a Coupon Class coming up this Thursday night, March 13.  7-9pm at my house. And there is plenty of room. If you want to learn how to cut your grocery bill in half, consider coming. Class fee is only $20 and you will save that on your first shopping trip.

HERE is what you can expect from the class as well as what past students have said about the class. If you want to come, just email me so I can get you on the class list and send you directions to my home.

4. It's been a while since Anna and I led a Mother/Daughter Craft Night. But we got one on the calendar. Save Friday, May 2, 7-9:30pm for you and your daughter to spend a special evening together.  HERE is a reacap of our first ever Mother/Daughter Craft Night where we painted a canvas of 2 lovebirds. And HERE is a recap of our 2nd Mother/Daughter Craft Night where we made a felted flower bunting.

For our next Mother/Daughter Craft Night we will be making 2 embroidery hoop crafts. Anna and I have yet to make the samples, but we have been pinning all kinds of ideas and stocking up on embroidery hoops. We are thinking of something along these lines, except we will not do any sewing:

More details are to come, but save May 2 for a special night of creation, fun, and connection just for moms and their daughters!  If you already want to get on the class list, email  me. Class fee will be $25 and include all supplies.

5. Anna's Craft Camp is filling up. And we are so excited. We have already been shopping for supplies and making samples. The crafts are really cool, ones that I promise you will not end up throwing away.

All the details about Anna's Craft Camp can be found HERE. We are offering 2 weeks of Craft Camp this summer! Pick your week: June 16-20 OR Aug 4-8 or sign up for both; the crafts will be different each week! If you want to get your daughter on the camp list, email me and I will save her a spot.

Happy Weekend! May it be an intentional one.

  1. Great post and great ideas! Any ideas for a picture frame full of encouraging truths for a boy? I should do something like this for Henry and post on his bathroom mirror so he can meditate on it while he washes his hands or brushes his teeth. Hmmm....

    1. How about a flag bunting like the one here: http://www.susoutter.com/2012/10/words-of-encouragement-paper-bunting.html

but make it out of rope and paper bag flags. And the writing could be in black or red. You could write: You are brave. You are strong. You are important. You are amazing. You are loved. You have purpose.

I am working on some wood signs for a boy's room. I'll make sure I email you when they are done. .
